Pious–aggressive behavior: A personality trait, which is passive, sometimes obstructionist resistance to reason in the face of losing a religious debate. It is a personality trait marked by a pervasive pattern of pompous religiosity and passive, usually disavowed, resistance to logic, reason, and facts in religious debate situations.
It can manifest itself as denial, stubbornness, resentment, sullenness, or deliberate/repeated failure to use logic and reason where one would normally be the case.
The primary manifestation of this personality disorder is use of the term "I'll pray for you" followed by rapid closure of all debate. In particularly bad manifestations, fleeing the room has been observed.
Psychologists debate whether it is curable outside of a significant life-altering event, actual study of the bible, or shock therapy.
